Meet Stephany Fish Crossman
Dressage Trainer, Accredited Biomechanics Specialist, Horsewoman
A Horse-Crazy Kid
The origin story of Serendipity Dressage begins in 1977 at a county fair in Bangor, Maine, when Stephany's parents lifted her onto her onto the back of her first pony. In the days, months, and years that followed, Stephany filled her days with all-things-horses.
Two years after she started Hunter lessons and joined Pony Club, her parents finally relented and bought Stephany her first horse. (Thanks mom and dad!)
With a Dream
By eighteen, Stephany discovered Dressage and left college to join Michael Poulin as a working student. Surrounded by professionals like Michael and Sharon Poulin, Carol Lavell, Michael Barisone, and Graf George, she got her first glimpse into the world of professional training -- and wanted more.
A big dream
After a successful management career in Florida's hospitality industry, working for a large, small, and exotic animal vet, and grooming for Jane Savoie, Stephany decided it was time to stamp her passport and attended the International Academy of Equestrian Studies in Warendorf, Germany. She graduated with her National Trainer Certificate, spent the next few months training in Germany, then returned to America "plus one" with her new mount Rocky.
Becoming a Reality
Since her return to the States in 2002, Stephany has earned her Bronze and Silver USDF Medals and is working toward her Grand Prix scores for the Gold Medal.
In addition to competing extensively and placing in many national and regional competitions, training horses to FEI levels, and studying natural horsemanship, Stephany is one of only nine accredited coaches for Mary Wanless' Ride With Your Mind Biomechanics System in the U.S.
With No intention of Stopping any time soon
Stephany currently calls Okeechobee, Florida home (south central Florida) and is based at the beautiful Rough Diamond Ranch, a 1700 acre cattle farm with a 10 stall barn and a huge covered arena. She travels around the area to teach her students and compete, and she also teaches biomechanics clinics from Maui to Montana. (Want to host a clinic?)
A proud life-long learner, Stephany loves broadening her skills with trainers like Cathy Connelly, Mary Wanless, and Harry Whitney. She's competing her horse Dante at Third Level, with high hopes for his future in the FEI ring!
